THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL WHITE TRUFFLE AUCTION 11th November 2001 The Bonino family, Pasqualina with two brothers Gianmaria and Alessandro with white truffle weighing 827 gr. (approx 2lbs.) The auctioneer Massimo Giletti taking bids Wolfgang Puck of Spago Restaurant, Los Angeles who paid € 20,700.00 (US $ 23.000) for a white truffle of 827 gr.(approx. 2lbs). Profits were sent to the orphaned children of the New York fire service.
